If you suffer from allergies, you should do this outside..
You shouldn’t use any sort of soap or detergent when cleaning your Dirt Devil filter. This could damage the filter material and make it less effective.. 2.
Clean the Dirt Devil’s Dust Cup.Cleaning the filter is also a great time to get rid of any dirt or grime that’s caught in the dust cup.. Detach the dust cup from the vacuum, remove the filter and/or cyclonic assembly, then give it a good shake off into an outdoor bin.Use a damp microfibre cloth to wipe away dirt, grime, and hair that’s caught inside the cup.. Make sure to let the dust cup fully dry before you re-attach it to the vacuum.. 3.
Remove Tangles and Dust From the Brush Roll.If your Dirt Devil has a rotating brush bar, then it’s important to remove any tangles and clumps of dirt to make sure it can turn smoothly.. Start by removing the base plate of your Dirt Devil, then take out the brush roll.
Check the manual if you’re not sure how to do this.
Then use a soft paint brush (or other soft brush) to remove any visible dust or dirt from inside the floorhead.. Once you’ve dusted the floorhead, check the brush roll for any tangled hair.If you can remove the bristle brush on your Shark vacuum, then take it out before using scissors to snip away any caught hair.
If you can’t remove the brush, then you can just take off the floorhead cover to cut away the hair while the brush is in position.. It’s also worth noting that some Shark vacuums, including the NV801UK, come with a hair removal tool. This is usually found in a small compartment in the floorhead.
Check the manual to find out whether your vacuum includes this tool.. Once you’ve finished cleaning the bristle brush, use the same tool to remove any hair wrapped around the soft roller. The soft DuoClean brush should then be wiped clean with a dry cloth..
